Friday Hui - Bucket Filling

Each Friday our Hui has a focus on developing the children's social and emotional wellbeing.  This week we were learning more about how to be good bucket fillers, not dippers.  We talked about what this sounds and looks like.
We then worked in groups of 3 to decorate people who are bucket fillers.  We glued on mini fuzzies to represent bucket filling and giving complements and warm fuzzies to each other.  These are displayed on the wall above our personal buckets.
It was very tricky to work in groups of 3, especially when decisions needed to be made.  We had to try and negotiate what colours we would use, making sure that everyone had a chance to say what they thought and to make sure that we included everyone in the task.  It was super tricky to decide on the two colours of fuzzies we were going to glue on.
These are skills we will need to keep coming back to, but it made us feel proud of ourselves when we could make a decision and everyone in the group was happy with that decision.  Pretty clever for five year olds!
