St Patrick's Day - Rainbow Day Celebration

We celebrated St Patrick's Day as part of our team focus on celebrations from different cultures this year.  We have a great teacher aide, Mike, who works in our learning spaces.  He is from Ireland so we thought this would be a great day to celebrate with Mike.
We focused on the rainbows and the different colours that we can find in these.  We made chains with pots of gold at the bottom, bead strings for bracelets and necklaces, hand print shamrocks, clouds with rainbows hanging which we made into kites, and potato print rainbows.
We practiced a lot of skills doing these activities and found out a little bit more about Mike and the country he is from.  It was a lot of fun and we had a lot of time to develop our oral language with each other while completing some new activities.

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!

Our Bubble Celebration

Today we celebrated getting 10 big green fuzzies in our Piwakawaka Team bucket. To get these fuzzies the whole team needs to be doing the right thing at the same time. We needed to make sure we were giving 5 and using our listening ears on the carpet.
Mrs Ibell brought in a bubble machine for us to have as part of our celebration. We were very excited and had so much fun chasing and popping the bubbles!
