Golf Lessons

We are super lucky to be getting 4 golf lessons this term.  We had a fantastic time using the awesome equipment and playing the games that Kelly Sport did with us.
We are so looking forward to the next lesson!

Calendar pattern - February

We have a calendar in the Red Room community space.  Every morning we look at the days of the week - finding out what day it is, what day it was yesterday and what day it will be tomorrow.  We also look at the numbers that make up the date, what the month is called and the Maori names for each of these things.  We also make some shape patterns that grow throughout the month.  We have to say the colour and the shape to describe what comes 'next' in the pattern.

This is the pattern for February.  We wonder what pattern we will make in March...maybe it will get trickier!

Handwriting

Zak was super proud of himself for getting all his handwriting finished in time.  He also made his letter 'b's' starting from the top and the correct size.
Ka pai Zak - we are super proud of you!

Numeracy learning

This week we have been learning that we don't have to count the materials, especially when we are working with the same number of items that have been separated into two group.  To check our learning, we have been trying to count on from the biggest number using tens frames in our heads.
We have also been making up number stories about frogs and tadpoles and telling our numeracy buddies.

Cyrus and Tian Xi have really enjoyed using our Morphun blocks to make some new creations this week.  They have other great shapes to use and connect using little rods that slide into groves.

Alex's Writing

Today Alex chose to do some writing on our whiteboard! We were all really impressed with the way Alex told us a story from the holidays. It was great to see you working independently Alex!
